Ric

I graduated from Viridis with a Doctor of Arts in Ecological Psychology and Environmental Humanities in 2022. I am a retired clergyperson, and currently an adjunct professor at the Center for Ecological Regeneration at Garrett Seminary, a United Methodist school in Evanston, Illinois.

I discovered Viridis in 2016 and completed the Professional Certificate. Then in late 2018 I survived a major stroke. It was during my recovery that I decided to pursue the doctoral program. We had a wonderfully supportive cohort and I found the courses and the faculty very inspiring.

I teach the capstone course in “Eco-Ministry” for our majors. Our classes are mostly remote these days (post-pandemic), but because of Viridis I was well prepared for that! My newest endeavor is preparing to become an end-of-life (death) doula.I am the father of two and the grandfather of one. My goal in life is for all who know me to know each other – and I’m making progress!
